Hi there!
I've bought Heavier7Strings yesterday night and I've downloaded it. Not installed yet because my current setup is on its last miles and I will get a new one built as soon as my present work is finished, in a week or so. I'd like to use my new VST in this project but I am afraid of burning an authorization. As I've read that there are three installation allowed, the product has a short span of life, actually, in my situation which implies live and studio work. is there a sort of tool to deactivate/manage the licence in the making?
TIA

Re: Authorization politics.
Dear TIA:
At first, the authorization would only be influenced when a hardware replacement happens.
Our policy on deactivation is:
- We only do deactivation when you have registered ALL THREE devices, that fills the capacity of one serial number.
- We do deactivation at most 4 times in one year for one serial number
If you match these policies, please send us your serial number to support@threebodytech.com, and we will erase your activation record.
After deactivation, we will erase activation record of all three devices at once, the corresponding devices will prompt for redo activation on second time of Heaver7Strings start. Then you can re-register on the devices you want to keep.

Thank you so much for the answer, Nathan!
I'd wish this would be explained on the website though. It is something to know for some eventual customers before committing to buy, as you can see!
Oh... and "TIA" also stands for "Thanks In Advance"!
But there are some girls named Tia, I know...

Hi Jean-Pierre!
Thanks a lot for your advice! We may establish a column for FAQ in the future and put all such questions on it.
And really sorry for my misunderstanding about the name! Now I got TIA's meaning, and you're welcome

so the next question is: what kind of hardware change influences the authorization ?
replacement of motherboard - ok no question. but what about a replacement of a
failed harddrive. what type of hardware _is_ / _is not_ part of the calculation of the
machine id ? would be bad to loose authorization due to hardware upgrades
(ram,hd,videocard).
cheers,

We use a combination of motherboard, CPU, hard disk and ethernet interface, but it doesn't mean any change would always trigger re-activation. For example, if you only change the disk, or change the ethernet interface, it would not break the activation.
If you found all your 3 activation times are exhausted, please email to support@threebodytech.com, and we would clear your activation time record so that you can activate again.
Re: Authorization politics.
I would like to reset my activations and can't contact support anymore.

Re: Authorization politics.
How can I use Ownthd professionally if activation and authorisation method is unreliable?
User should at least have possibility to manage activations.
